Platforms - Zephyra Studio
What platforms are and who they're for
A platform is the base a website is built on. It's the layer that decides who can edit the site day to day, how quickly pages load, what happens when your traffic or product catalog grows, and whether the site can be moved somewhere else later without rebuilding. The choice is always made before design starts, because it shapes both the budget and the workflow that follows.
This service is for anyone deciding how their next website will be built: a small business choosing its first real site, a content or product team that wants control without a developer, a founder planning something complex, or a business still running on a DIY builder that has hit its limits. If you don't yet know which approach fits, that decision is part of what we do together.
Advantages compared to the alternatives
The main alternative is to skip platforms entirely and treat a page builder like Wix or Squarespace as the finished product. That works until it doesn't: SEO control stays shallow, you rent rather than own the setup, and design stays inside a template's limits. Comparing platforms head to head is the difference between a site you can grow and a site you eventually abandon.
Here's the honest comparison. WordPress is the most flexible option with the widest plugin ecosystem, the best fit for content-heavy sites and blogs. Webflow gives visual control over design without code and faster delivery, ideal for portfolios and marketing sites. Migrating off Wix or Squarespace solves the exact problems DIY builders create: SEO limits and lack of ownership over code and data. Custom code on Next.js or Laravel is for performance and scalability on complex or enterprise projects, where standard platforms start to constrain the product.
How we work with platforms
We start with a short conversation: what the site has to do, who edits it, how often content changes, and where it needs to be in two or three years. From there we narrow the list, usually within 24-48 hours of receiving your inquiry, and recommend one platform rather than handing you an open menu. You get a working preview, two rounds of design revision, and a handover where you can edit the parts that matter to you. Everything runs remotely and you talk directly to the person doing the work. Smaller and mid-size sites typically take 2-3 weeks once the platform and content are settled.
Rough price
The price depends on scope: which platform, how many templates and integrations, whether content and products are migrated, and how much customization the build needs. That's why it goes through the calculator or a conversation instead of a fixed figure. Once we agree on the platform and the scope, the quote is fixed and payment runs 50% up front and 50% on delivery, with no installments.

Frequently asked questions
Platforms are the development approaches we choose from when building a website: WordPress, Webflow, a migration off Wix or Squarespace, or custom code on Next.js and Laravel. Picking the right one decides how the site gets edited, how fast it loads, and how far it can grow. We match the approach to your content, workflow and timeline.
